Community involvement and collaboration is a major component of Youthlinc programming. Our partners, both local and international help propel our mission to create lifetime humanitarians through a number of hands-on service opportunities for our volunteers. One Utah non-profit supports Youthlinc programming both in Utah and abroad at each of our international service sites.

Youthlinc and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, partner together every spring to hold a large-scale clothing drive. One way to support both organizations is to donate used clothing or cloth. If you are looking for ways to support your local or global communities but aren’t sure where to start, you can start in your very own closet! Not only do you support two community focused non-profits but you also help reduce the environmental impact in your own backyard. Each year in spring, Youthlinc and BBBS sets a goal to collect 200,000 pounds of cloth.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, has supported Youthlinc Service Year humanitarians as a main service site location since 2010, and a fundraising partner since 2018. Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of Youth. Their vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. BBBS believes that every child has the innate ability to achieve great success. With their mission and vision, they are working to build a brighter future for all kids in our community.

BBBS of Utah serves on average 1,000 children in Utah, studies have shown that mentored youth have better grades and school attendance, and overall have more confidence. BBBS matches volunteer mentors with children in the program.

Get involved! Support or Host a Youthlinc Clothing Drive:

Help your community engage in local service by supporting Youthlinc programming. You can do this by hosting a clothing drive, an in-kind donation supply drive, or submitting a corporate match on our behalf. These projects are great for corporations and businesses, schools, service clubs, sports teams, religious organizations, or community coalitions.

How it works:

1. You donate clothing/cloth items, 2. items are then sold and recycled through Savers, and 3. money from these sales goes towards funding both BBBS local programming and Youthlinc international community development projects. This means that every clothing donation to Youthlinc is not only an investment in a local child’s future but is also an investment in a new vocational center in Kenya, a computer lab in Fiji, conservation efforts in Cambodia, and a start-up business loans in Peru, and so much more!
