I was born in Moscow, Idaho but raised in the East Millcreek area. Attended Skyline High School. Married Garner B. Meads, Jr. in 1978. Graduated from the University of Utah College of Nursing in 1979. Worked at what is now Salt Lake Regional, U of U Med Center, Primary Children’s and did some auditing for Joint Commission
I helped Garner run a clinic in Tooele for the first seven years of his ENT practice in West Jordan. Four children later it was a mutual decision that the children needed one full time parent not two part time parents.
We are the parents of six children and now have 14 grandchildren. All but one of the families lives in the Wasatch front area. Which is why we try to get as many of their performances and sporting events as possible. We also enjoy the one on one time when we get to visit the other family in Michigan.
I have worked in various church leadership positions, as I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have volunteered at the Institute of Religion at the U of U, family history center and with the Young Women’s Resource Room.
I have now been on three Youthlinc service trips with this summer 2024 being my fourth. My first was to Cambodia and the second to Madagascar. Our daughter invited me to join her when she was asked to be the assistant team leader (ATL) under Paul and Kim Stringham. My second trip was to Madagascar. With all our daughter’s involvement we have come to appreciate Youthlinc, the many awesome youth and all the different programs. I went to Fiji and will now be returning this Summer as a Mentor.
