There have been thousands of amazing people that have come and gone through the Youthlinc Service Year. There have been hundreds that have come back for return trips, and there are some who continue to stay involved for many years. Brenda Hall is one of those people and we are honored to call her a Youthlincer.
Brenda was first introduced to Youthlinc when her son Jackson joined the 2010 Kenya team. The following year, she and her three kids joined the 2011 Peru Friends and Family team and she has not been able to leave since. She has served on Youthlinc’s Board of Directors, as a mentor on the 2015 Kenya team, and as a Team Leader for the Peru 2016, Cambodia 2017, Peru 2018, and Guatemala 2019 teams! This year she will be bringing it full circle and will be going back to Kenya as a Team Leader again!
While Brenda is someone that is widely known and loved in the Youthlinc world, she does so much more than what she is known for through these trips. Outside of being a super star Team Leader, she has spent many years serving and volunteering with other local organizations including Girl Scouts of Utah, Boy Scouts of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, Guide Dogs for the Blind, as a coach for several youth sports teams, and a leader in various church youth programs. In addition to all her service, she keeps busy working as an accountant, being a mom to three children, quilting, cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs, and traveling with friends to Disneyland!
This is just a small list of the amazing things Brenda does to help better her community both locally and internationally, and because of this, we were honored to select her as our 2019 Lifetime Humanitarian award winner!
